A day for relaxaton :)

It rained all day yesterday, all night and all morning!  Today started off with some light stretching followed by a workout at the gym!

After the gym, we decided to go on a walk and get some essentials for the house. We are looking for reusable shopping bags. Everyone seems to have them but I never see them in the store. I'm about to start asking if I don't find one soon!

Dogs are out and about most days. Most have owners but they walk the streets freely. Sometimes, larger dogs are strays but there are none here that are scraggly. Even the homeless pups here are well taken care of. This one was enjoying some sun.

Our Castle

I realized you guys might want to see where we live. So, here it is!

We live on a hill, so the street is at an angle to our door. That's why the picture looks a bit funny.

Here is a bird we made. (S)he hangs out by our window.

One street goes up, the other goes down. The streets are crazy, huh?

This picture is from an outside angle. I was trying to get it's plumage. The street directly below the bird is ours.









For all you juicing and detoxing fans, you will be happy to know that juicers are easily available here. Tiny things, about 8 inches tall but don't be fooled, they pack quite a punch! Plus, they are way easier to clean!

Rainy Day

Not much to blog about today. It rained. These hills are quite the obstacle when wet. I felt like I was on Wipeout! J didn't seem to have much problem with the rain. This is our street(actually two streets just a few steps away from our door). You can't tell, but the street on the right is stairs and yes, the residents just drive down them and park on them like we would on a curbside.

We went grocery shopping and stayed indoors, as did the majority of our neighbors. Nothing like reading and listening to some good old piano music! You can barely see it, but the lady is pulling a rolling shopping bag with her. Alot of the residents here use these when shopping. Very convenient, especially when traversing all these hills! You don't have to worry about your bag ripping on the walk home.

I find it very interesting that they park right up on their houses. As might be expected if you've been to Europe before, the majority of the cars are tiny here. Some of the streets are so narrow, the cars barely fit through. When we are on those streets and a car is passing, we just step into the closest doorway :)

Out and About

First we went down the street(literally. It's all hills here.) and played on the playground. We also took in the view from there. This specific playground is all working gym machines but for kids. They give you a workout by using your own body weight as resistance. Other playgrounds here have slides and stuff but this was pretty neat and fun!


Then we walked around and went to an asian supermarket, basically just a step below Ross but a step above Dollar Tree. They had lots of stuff there. Then we walked down main street looking for food & hoping the supermarket would be open. It wasn't but the walk was nice.

We found a bar that was open and we had tapas. Everyone goes to the bars here for food. They are restaurants and bars in one. Mostly everyone just eats and watches soccer games or motorcycle races.

After going to some other tiny shops for trashbags and batteries, we started to go home for siesta time. Jacob decided to climb the rocks.

Afterwards, we came across the park, above where Jesus watches over everyone! This is what Jesus sees everyday!

Lastly, we began our walk home. Here, if someone has a driveway, it's enclosed at the front of their house. To get out, they open the gate and drive out. If they are walking for the day, they use a smaller gate to get out. In this pic, the car gate is on the left and the smaller gate is on the right.

This was my favorite part of the day: We sat silently and enjoyed the view with this lovely horse before retiring for the evening.

Greetings from Spain!

Hi everyone! I hear there is some interest in there being a blog about our travels. I had already thought about doing so and then it was brought to my attention that others would like to know what it's like over here. Then, Jacob wanted to do a blog, soo, with all of those signs from Universe, how could I not begin blogging?

Here are some photos from our first sunrise here. They are a bit blurry as I had to stand on top of a chair on our patio and then get on my tippy toes to try to get a shot above our rooftop! :)

It is incredibly peaceful here at night. All I hear is the breeze and the occasional bat!
